The Walking Dead’s Seth Gilliam: Negan is ‘far from done’
By Susie Graham
Seth Gilliam is safe from Negan at this point, but the actor had a few things to say about his character, Negan and season 7 of The Walking Dead.
Father Gabriel is an interesting character on The Walking Dead who has gone through some pretty big changes during the recent episodes of season 6. Many fans of the show who were not big Gabe fans have found some forgiveness for the good Padre since he has been able to find some courage.
He has protected Judith. He’s become a good student and learned how to use weapons against the walkers and other threats. He has even become an organized leader in the defense of Alexandria enabling the stronger fighters to go out and do what they need to do with more confidence.
Unfortunately, the threats out there have become increasingly more formidable and even our fighters are now in danger. Gabriel is not in immediate danger from Negan, but Seth Gilliam had some information to share with the folks at toofab.com. Check out the video clip on their site!
Seth said this about season 7:
"“I can say from the little bit that I do know about the upcoming season, there will be lots and lots of tears shed. I think there will be a good deal of shock, a lot of heartbreak and what I can say is that Negan is far from done.”"
He also talked about loving to play all the different aspects of his character from timid and afraid to more courageous.
"“It’s fun to play frightened. It’s fun to play steady. It’s basically for me just fun to play. It’s a great character. I think inner turmoil and the inability to forgive oneself is something that everyone struggles with at some point in their life. That’s probably why people have had such a visceral reaction to him.”"
We still have a long summer before we see what happens. Season 7 starts filming next week. Everyone is back in Georgia now and they are preparing to wow us, I’m sure. Our summer is spent waiting, theirs is spent working.
Next: Odds for each character to be Negan's kill
We will have a little bit if excitement as always in July when Comic-Con hits and we see a trailer and get some interviews. Until then, either relax and enjoy Fear the Walking Dead or continue with your crazy Negan conspiracy theories. Whatever gets you through walker withdrawals!
