The Walking Dead: Topps Digital Trading Card Review
By Susie Graham
Topps Trading Cards digital app is available now for traders on iOS and Android for The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead so get trading!
Trading cards are just as fun as you remember. Whether you used to trade or you remember buying baseball cards or even Pokémon cards or Yu-Gi-Oh cards for your kids, the concept is the same, it has just gone digital.
Topps is bringing cards to the physical world in the fall, but they are available right now on your phone, computer or tablet. There are different color packs. Blue are better than white and red are the best. There is also a special black and white pack and a yellow collection,
For the launch of the app, you get a free pack for the first 7 days! They look and open like a real pack of trading cards. They have a front and a back. There is a nice selection of cards and a nice selection of walkers as well, although as a walker fan, I hope they expand the walkers even more.
You can offer your cards for trades, accumulate coins to buy more packs, and do all the things you’d expect to be able to do with a card trading app. There are additional aspects I need to explore that a seasoned trader will easily figure out. There are collections, awards, and a social component.
There are already tons of traders speaking the lingo of dupes (duplicates) and letting you know what they have that’s valuable and what they really want. if you’re ready to give it a try ,The Walking Dead: Card Trader digital app is waiting for you in the App Store and Google Play Store.

Topps gave us a sneak peak at some of the cards to publish from The Walking Dead. Remember the digital app has an entire collection of Fear the Walking Dead for traders as well.
Get trading! If you’re a competitive trader, this collection should give you all the elements of collecting and trading you’re looking for in card collecting. If you’re a casual collector, just looking at the cards is fun and a nice preview of what you might see in the fall. As a parent, the digital version is a lot cheaper than going to the store every 5 minutes to get the cards your kid wants.
P.S. Just a heads up on the notifications. Depending on how you feel about notifications, you might want to turn them off right away, as I usually do with all my apps, unless you like the notifications and a great walker growl instead of a beep when you receive them.
Update: I recommend sticking to free things at this point since the app is brand new. I’m sure any bugs will get worked out as the thousands of support tickets get turned in to Topps. Tweet here if you’ve already come across an issue or suggestion.
