Fear The Walking Dead season 2B: What’s next for Nick?
By Adam Carlson
Being alone in the zombie apocalypse isn’t easy, but that’s what Nick Clark will face when Fear The Walking Dead returns for the second half of season 2.
There is a lot of chaos going on in the world of Fear The Walking Dead. With the entire group fragmented, their place of safety compromised, and the future wide open, the survivors will need to find a way to stay safe until they can meet back up.

But what if they don’t want to meet back up? That seems to be the issue with Nick Clark at the end of Fear The Walking Dead‘s first half of season 2. Given the option to leave the plantation with his mother, sister and Strand, Nick instead decided to stay among the undead and blend in with the horde.
Nick is the ultimate wild card going forward with the series. He could disappear for a long time, much like Morgan Jones did on The Walking Dead. He could wander among the dead and survive on his own, only he hopefully wouldn’t become as mentally lost along his way as Morgan did. However, he will still need to get his mind straight, as his conversations with Celia Flores seem to have altered his way of thinking in a major way.

Instead, it is likely that Nick will only need time to find himself. He shouldn’t be absent from all of the second half of Fear The Walking Dead‘s second season, but he likely won’t be around to interact with his family, Chris and Travis, or the other survivors. Instead, he should wander alone among the undead until ready to rejoin everyone.
Right now, Nick seems too defiant when it comes to his family (specifically his mother) and overly confident in his ability to blend in with the hordes of undead, but what happens when he is put in a position where his tactics won’t work?
Having Nick struggle on his own, maybe meeting other survivors or finding dangerous situations on his own could make him realize how much safer he can be when surrounded by his friends and family.
For now, fans of Nick should be okay with the character’s situation, as he is a capable survivor who has seen a lot of action with walkers and other survivors. The current situation could be rough for Nick though, as he will likely learn more about himself while separated from those who love him.
