Season 6 of The Walking Dead featured herds of walkers, but there were some that stood out from the herd. Let’s look at some of these. Meet Poop Walkers.

Maggie and Aaron were underground in the sewers under Alexandria making their way out to try to find Glenn. Glenn’s name was on the wall of the lost already as a memorial.

We had seen some pretty gross water walkers before in the flooded food pantry near St. Sarah’s church when we met Father Gabriel. Their skin rippled and delicate from the flood. Hair tangled and matted. Clothes dragging with the weight of the water.

In the sewer, we met even more gross walkers that Ross Marquand referred to as poop walkers because of the sewer. The sewer water had an even harsher effect on these walkers and more time has passed.

These decayed skeletal mud and muck covered walkers were beautifully hideous and scary (and hungry) as they lurched and attacked Maggie and Aaron in the dark tunnel.

They were important to the story as well because they reminded Maggie of the dangers that lurked everywhere now. How she was figuratively and now literally travelling through shit constantly.

She confessed her secret of her pregnancy to Aaron and made the smart decision to take care of herself and the new life inside her and let Glenn come back and find them if he was alive. To trust that there were others out there to help. She needed to think differently now. This is a different world.

A world with uglIness popping up out of nowhere at any time. She had to accept that and adjust to it.

The poop walkers were quite memorable as walkers go for their look and the fight with Maggie and what they represent. Coleman Youmans, an often featured walker, played one of the featured poop walkers. Season 6 was a great season for walker fans.
