The Walking Dead: Funny animated walker audition [VIDEO]

What would a walker audition be like on AMC’s The Walking Dead? YouTube’s ArcadeCloud shows us just what casting must be like for the hit zombie tv show.

When The Walking Dead hold casting calls for certain characters, you can bet they likely see an amazing amount of variation among the applicants. Whether they look the part and can’t act, are great actors who don’t fit the position, or just a poor option, odds are that many of the auditioners end up disappointed by the results.

Thankfully, AMC has knocked the casting process out of the park for The Walking Dead so far. With so many amazing performances from talented individuals who captivate fans every week, there aren’t many complaints with the product the zombie survival drama puts on each week for fans.

For now, fans don’t have a way to look into these auditions, but a funny animated short from ArcadeCloud on YouTube has shown us just what could be going on behind the scenes of the popular AMC program.

Here is the video titled Real Zombie Auditions for Walking Dead (Walking Dead Animation) as hosted on YouTube:

The video starts off hitting the right notes, by showing a young man who couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag. After hearing some comments from the panel about the painful audition process, the short slides into the final audition of the day: Jake Walker.

Walker is a classically trained Shakespearean actor who attended Julliard. When hearing that, the group of auditioners perk up and get optimistic about what they are about to see. Sadly, they shouldn’t have been so excited.

Jake is told to enter the room, and it is revealed that he is indeed a Walker, but of the zombie variety. His clothes are battered and face is decayed, with bloody stumps for feet and crazy hair and flies surrounding him. He slowly makes his way over to the front of the panel, who tell him that they’ve seen some good walkers.

Next, the walker shows off his skills. His eyes turn red and he growls like one of the most vicious monsters of the undead. He is directed to tone it down and give it one more try. Jake waves his arms and growls as the woman on the panel reveals he has been a white walker on Game of Thrones.

Sadly, Jake didn’t earn a role as a walker on The Walking Dead. But the panel of auditioners did find one role that fit him really well, forcing one of the series regulars out of the program.
