The Walking Dead: Nicotero says Negan victim revealed in premiere

We have been waiting a long time to find out Negan’s victim, would The Walking Dead make us wait even longer by not revealing it right away?
Greg Nicotero put those fears to rest when he spoke to Entertainment Weekly. “Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode.” Nicotero directed the season 6 finale and the season 7 premiere.
At the end of season 6 we watched and listened to Negan as he pontificates in front of the group on their knees. As we heard numerous times from producers, the finale was about the breaking down of the confidence of our heroes.

Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode.
If we look back now, we see the faces of our friends in sheer terror as never seen or felt before. Negan was in complete control in front of them and luxuriating in his place on stage.
Greg Nicotero says this is a role he enjoys. We’re sure to see more of this reveling.
"“Negan is that kind of guy. He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”"

Season 7 filming is underway. Many sources are reporting a season 7 premiere date of October 9th, but we will announce a premiere date when it becomes official.

I can’t imagine that the Fear finale and the season 7 premiere would be on the same night, so I’m betting of October 16th. But we will announce the date when we get official word from an official source like AMC or Comic-Con confirmation.
