The Walking Dead season 7 Comic Con key art released
By Adam Carlson
The new poster for season 7 of The Walking Dead helps to put the season 6 cliffhanger ending of the AMC zombie survival drama into perspective.
It has to be tough for AMC when trying to promote the upcoming season of The Walking Dead. Despite having many great characters and tons of fantastic comic material to look forward to, the zombie survival show just plain can’s show a lot of it.

The reason for that is simple. If the shows displays a character in a later scene that was in Negan’s lineup, fans will know they survived and it will eliminate some of the drama. In addition, showing anything other than zombies, characters not in danger, or The Saviors could drop major clues about the cliffhanger AMC is trying so hard to protect.
Some fans were very disappointed by the still image from season 7 that was released through Entertainment Weekly yesterday because it gave fans nothing new. However, the key art for season 7 which will be on display at Comic Con International on Friday, July 22, 2016 at least gives fans a new perspective.
Here is the key art for The Walking Dead season 7:
The view from the perspective of The Saviors behind Negan is very interesting. The survivors seem clumped together much more closely than during the season 6 finale of The Walking Dead, but that is likely just to be able to include as many characters as possible in the art.

Strangely enough, the fear these characters should be feeling doesn’t come through in this key art. Instead of being terrified, Rick’s group look exhausted or annoyed, which isn’t quite a great thing. Only a couple of the characters captured horror in their face, including Eugene, Sasha, Daryl, Rosita, and maybe Maggie.
Even though this was just a key art release for promotion, it’s always nice to get any taste of The Walking Dead available during the long break between seasons. The fact it gives nothing new away should be expected, but also leaves fans hungry for anything new.
