Talking Dead up for Outstanding Interactive Program at Emmys
By Adam Carlson
AMC’s Talking Dead hosted by Chris Hardwick has received a 2016 Emmy award nomination for Outstanding Interactive Program for covering The Walking Dead.
Being a fan of The Walking Dead can be difficult. Having to say goodbye to characters we know and love or watching situations that make us uncomfortable can be difficult to deal with after each new episode on AMC airs. Thanks to Talking Dead, that process has become much easier.

Many fans turn to The Walking Dead‘s post show discussion led by Chris Hardwick to help process the new episodes. Adding special guests from the show and popular celebrities, there are plenty of reasons to tune in to the fantastic program.
However, one part of the show that often gets overlooked is how interactive of a show Talking Dead is. Along with polls, fans questions, and trivia, the show involves the fans in ways that many others don’t.
This was noticed by the Emmy nominating group, who saw Talking Dead as one of the best when it comes to getting fans involved and decided to make the discussion show one of their nominations in the Outstanding Interactive Program category.
In a sort-of awkward situation, Talking Dead congratulated itself on Twitter on their official account:
The 2016 Emmy Awards will be held on September 18, 2016 at 5:00 pm PDT. Joining Talking Dead in nominations are Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462 and The Walking Dead, each landing two nominations. While this number is still very low considering the popularity of the zombie survival programs on television, fans can rest assured that while being recognized at the Emmys is nice, it doesn’t always represent what fans around the world are watching and enjoying.
Still, it’s great to see a nod for Talking Dead. It has become a regular part of the experience of each episode of The Walking Dead for many individuals and is a reliable program for the inside scoop each week. In fact, sometimes it is easy to forget about this show since fans take it for granted much of the time.
