The Walking Dead: New Morgan photo and the bigger world
By Susie Graham
As Comic-Con gets closer, we are getting some new promotional photos from Entertainment Weekly to start fueling the excitement for season 7 of The Walking Dead.
Last week we were treated to a stylized version of the Negan line-up in an exclusive Entertainment Weekly photo for season 7 of The Walking Dead. Today we have a new photo of Morgan Jones.
We know Morgan is alive. When we last saw Morgan he had killed the man who was torturing Carol and about to end her. He made the difficult decision kill even though he had been trying to avoid killing according to Aikido practices he learned while with Eastman.
Two men, presumably from a place called The Kingdom in the comics, came to help Morgan and Carol. That is likely where Morgan is now.
Greg Nicotero talked to EW about the bigger world that opened up in season 6 and how that will have a tremendous effect on the stories in season 7.
"“The exciting thing about season 7 is we’re really opening it up. We started in season 6 by getting a sense that the world was a much larger place. We were laying the seeds for the fact that there is a very big world out there. So, in season 7, we really get a chance to explore those worlds in much greater detail.”"
The Negan story and the line-up is the main event and the big curiosity, or let’s face it, anxiety, for the premiere, but that will be just the beginning of what’s to come.

We still have many people in Alexandria alive and unaware of what is unfolding in that field. Tara and Heath are out on a 2 week supply run. They aren’t even aware of Denise’s death.
Jesus and Gregory and the Hilltoppers are also in the dark about their new allies being cornered, outnumbered and overpowered. The deal they made with them takes on new meaning now and they’ve given away quite a bit of their stuff. Gregory might not be very understanding.
