Comic Con 2016: The Walking Dead elevates things as always
By Susie Graham
San Diego International Comic-Con is a huge event. They don’t do anything small. It’s the Super Bowl for us! Everything is elevated. Even the elevators!
We are just starting to get photos and news in from San Diego as Comic-Con 2016 kicks off. For The Walking Dead, the big event is Friday when we have the panels with the cast and producers of the show and we get our first look at the trailer for season 7.
We will also finally have an official date for the premiere of season 7. We know The Walking Dead returns in October, but we don’t have the official date yet.
Just because our big event isn’t until tomorrow, doesn’t mean the excitement can wait. The Walking Dead knows how to build excitement.
We got previews of the key art from AMC on their twitter account before anyone even arrived in San Diego. AMC updated its Dead Yourself App to add amazing animation and walker sound effects. H
Now pictures are coming in from Twitter of the wall and elevator art and the Hard Rock Hotel that are simply stunning!

Last year the focus of the art was walkers and Morgan as he arrived in Alexandria. There was tension between the people of Alexandria and Rick’s group and a huge walker threat looming.
This year, it’s not surprising that the focus is Negan and the line-up. Season 6 ended with a huge cliffhanger that will change the direction of the show and open the world for our group, and affect our characters tremendously.
While there are other stories still hanging and new ones to be told, the Negan story line is the big focus and needs to be addressed before we can move into season 7.
