Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead now have a date they can circle on their calendars for the season 7 premiere of the hit zombie survival drama program.

For many people, special occasions are always a great reason to celebrate. Birthdays, anniversaries, and other events can be huge parties, but those days can be eclipsed by one major thing: new episodes of The Walking Dead.

The hit AMC zombie survival drama has a rabid fan base. For months, viewers of the show were trying to guess just how much longer they had to wait for the season 7 premiere. Thankfully, that period of guessing and hoping is now over.

According to the announcement made at 2016 Comic Con International in San Diego, California during the panel for The Walking Dead, With Robert Kirkman and other members of the show’s cast and crew on hand, the official date for the season 7 premiere was announced.

Of course, the biggest issue on the mind of fans right now is the situation with Negan and The Saviors having Rick and many of those close to him in a very sticky situation. Thankfully, there have been promises that the situation will be resolved immediately when the show returns, but that still leaves time for a lot of fallout from the encounter with Negan and his lady Lucille.

Under the direction of executive producer and special effects master Greg Nicotero, the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead should be one of the most watched episodes in the history of the program, with many fans worried about the fate of their favorite characters and those close to them.
