Robert Kirkman has created one of the most beloved franchises in recent history, but not everybody is showering the creator of The Walking Dead with love.

Being famous has to be pretty awesome. People will recognize you and shower you with affection. You get honored for your work and win awards. You will have access to exclusive parties and gain fame and fortune.

However, it isn’t all great. There is the dark underbelly of being famous. There are people out there who are overly critical or excessively negative. There are also a lot of people out there who might just have a screw loose. Either way, celebrities have to be careful in public, or on social media.

This problem got even heavier in the case of Robert Kirkman. For the most part, fans of The Walking Dead are great people who enjoy the show and take the good moments with the bad. But there are the bad eggs out there who send horrible messages to the creator of The Walking Dead, even going as far as sending death threats according to comicbook.com.

"“I get feedback on the web every day,” Kirkman says. “Most of the people I work with stay away from it. They cannot cope with the terrible attacks, the negative comments and death threats I get.”"

Of course, there are things that Kirkman could do about these threats. He would turn the messages over to the police or tell his followers to attack them on social media, but instead the creator of The Walking Dead just wants the people to let out their frustrations and hopes that the threats are just outbursts or temporary emotion.

"I could ask the police to trace the person but it is probably no danger,” he says. “It can be very scary if it is from a 35-year-old man with a lot of knives who knows where I live. But it can also be a 13 year old highly emotional girl… We’ll see if I survive, but I do not think anyone is going to hurt me here.”"

Hopefully, none of these threats are serious. Robert Kirkman has made a lot of people’s lives happier with The Walking Dead television shows, comic books, toys, games, video games, and more. It would be great to have him around for many, many more years to help entertain a dark world in need of happiness.
