The Walking Dead ready to invade Cynthiana, Kentucky

The Walking Dead will be taking over Cynthiana, Kentucky on August 6, 2016 when the town will honor hometown stars Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore.

For casual fans of The Walking Dead, the city of Cynthiana, Kentucky might mean absolutely nothing. In fact, it’s likely best known for being the location of two battles in the United States Civil War, but two men from the city with less than 7,000 people have done a lot to put it on the map in modern history.

Both born in 1978 and hailing from Cynthiana, Kentucky, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore have gone on to do great things in the comic book world. Setting the zombie survival comic in Cynthiana, Rick Grimes and Shane Walsh worked in law enforcement for the Kentucky city before making their way to Atlanta.

Cynthiana, Kentucky returns that favor this year by holding a special weekend in honor of The Walking Dead. August 6, 2016 will be the date when both Kirkman and Moore and honored.

In addition to the wonderful mural on display when entering the town, Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore will be on hand to give out autographs, have a question and answer session, and distribute a limited edition comic book for those in attendance. There will be trivia, a costume contest, tours, a silent auction, and more.

Plus, there are other events going on the day before the event, including a golf scramble, zombie paintball shootout, and party before the apocalypse. Fans could make this event an entire weekend of fun, all hosted by the wonderful city of Cynthiana.
