You can finally follow Jeffrey Dean Morgan of The Walking Dead in the land of social media. That’s right, Negan is on Twitter!

The Walking Dead family has a huge presence on social media. There are Facebook groups, parody and role-playing Twitter accounts, Instagram accounts, and memes are shared everywhere. Most of the cast, producers and walkers have social media accounts.

There are a few actors who are not into social media or (ahem, Andrew Lincoln) technology, period. For a long time, Jeffrey Dean Morgan did not have any social media accounts. There have been accounts that purported to be him, but other actors like Michael Cudlitz and Josh McDermitt were always quick to do fans a solid and let us know that those accounts were fake and JDM was not on social media.

So it was a big deal on August 6th when an account with the handle @JDMorgan and the username Jeffrey Dean Morgan with the bio claiming to be the official account of Jeffrey Dean Morgan started getting noticed.

The cover photo is the key art from AMC of the Negan lineup and the profile photo is Jeffrey with a big fluffy dog. All of those things could be fake though, right? But this account is different. It has the little blue check mark that means the account has been verified! It appears that Negan really is on Twitter.

In a matter of 2 short days, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has accumulated 15 thousand followers, but he has not followed anyone. Not Gale Anne Hurd. Not Robert Kirkman. Not Norman Reedus. Not Steven Ogg. Not Austin Amelio. Nobody!

He has not fashioned one Tweet. Many people have Tweeted to him. I gave him half our account!

So we will have to see if Jeffrey Dean Morgan has really joined Twitter or merely created an account. Hopefully, it’s the former and he’s just busy or is taking time with the learning curve of Twitter.

Join us, Jeffrey! Twitter is fun! We’ll protect you from the crazies and all the people begging for follows and begging you to marry them and telling you they love you. You can handle it. You’re Negan, for goodness sake!
