Season 7 of The Walking Dead returns in October on AMC. Ross Marquand talks about the expansive season coming up.

Ross Marquand talked to Pop Sugar about season 7 and reiterated what we’ve heard from many of the actors about season 7 and what we saw in the trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in July. In season 7 the world gets bigger just like Jesus said it would.

We saw The Kingdom and King Ezekiel in the trailer. Last season we met the Saviors and the community of the Hilltop. Alexandria isn’t the only community out there.

There are organized communities and there are people out there that are not so nice. The world hasn’t been the old world for quite some time now and the people who are still alive aren’t just focused on surviving anymore. They are starting to look to the future and trying to rebuild.

"Well I think the world keeps expanding, and truthfully this is the most expansive season yet. The Kingdom is coming into play, of course we have the Saviors and their compound, and not to give too much away, but there are other groups that we’re going to be meeting up with as well. It’s going to change them immeasurably. They’re realizing although they thought there was just one or two little outposts in the neighborhoods in the Atlanta and Virginia area, it turns out there’s several. That’s an exciting thing. All of a sudden you’re getting choices on where you’re gonna live, who you’ll do business with. It’s the beginnings of a rebuilding of society."

Of course, we have to get past the premiere and finding out what happened in that field first. Even Ross has to deal with the Negan questions.

"Oh yeah, I’ve had so many people ask me who died. It’s been crazy fielding those questions, because everyone wants to know who was at the end of that bat. Even friends and family! But we keep that information very much under lock and key."

Next: It's Negan's World

Then we will see what happens to our group and how Negan affects the confidence of the group. We saw in the trailer that Spencer wishes they would have accepted the deal back when they had the chance. Olivia sits uncomfortably sipping lemonade with Negan. Dwight and the Saviors kneel as Negan passes. Hilltop looks to be invaded by walkers and the Kingdom just looks like a crazy, wonderful place.

If Abraham makes it out alive, hopefully, we’ll hear him say things like, “Who’s Shiva?” or “Who’s Ezekiel?”
