It was announced that The Walking Dead will feature a new character named Ezekiel during season 7, but could he become romantically tied to a fan favorite?

Fans of The Walking Dead may have been caught off guard when it was revealed that there would be a tiger in the zombie apocalypse. However, readers of the comic book series know this character all too well, but are still excited about his debut on the show.

The individual in question is King Ezekiel. He is the leader of The Kingdom. His pet tiger Shiva is always by his side and ready to attack anything threatening nearby. But there is more to Ezekiel than his love of animals and eccentric leadership style.

Ezekiel’s has been laid out in the The Walking Dead comic book series, but that may change for the hit television show. Just like in the past, the AMC program doesn’t always follow along with the comic book, adding some twists and turns along the way. Still, the pages of the Image Comics publication could offer some insight as to a possible romantic link between characters.

In the comics, Ezekiel does find love, but if that translates over to the television show things could get VERY awkward very quickly.

The romantic relationship that forms between Ezekiel and Michonne in the comics is a beautiful and interesting one, but not one that would make a lot of sense on the show. Michonne has already taken on the comic role of Andrea on the show, and for her to two-time Rick or break things off with him after all this development would be a waste of a great character.

However, this is a situation where a substitution of characters could be an interesting way to get more mileage from a character that died a long time ago in The Walking Dead comics.

Introducing Carol to the men on the horses means that she already has a clear path to The Kingdom. Even though Morgan is with her (and Morgan and Michonne have a relationship in the comics), this would be a great opportunity to have Carol take that Michonne role and have her embrace the ways life under Ezekiel.

This would leave one loose end though, and his name is Tobin. Whether or not Carol has romantic feelings for Tobin or she was just using him for sexual release can be debated, but with Carol saying her final goodbye to him, would that be enough for fans to move on from the relationship?
