Fans of Fear The Walking Dead are talking about a scene called ‘Sacrifice’ from episode 9 of season 2, showing La Colonia’s way of dealing with sick people.

There were many moments from Fear The Walking Dead on Sunday that left fans wondering what was going to happen next. This week, AMC gave fans a scene that set the tone for the episode to come with their “talked about” video series.

The scene from episode 209: ‘Los Muertos’ that was chosen was used before the opening credits. Called ‘Sacrifice’, the scene was one of the most intense and confusing on the series yet, but opened up the discussion of what La Colonia is to all the characters.

Here is the scene from Fear The Walking Dead as shared from the official AMC YouTube account:

This scene was intense for multiple reasons. First of all, Alonso Herrera was sacrificing himself to the undead. Later on, it would be explained that he was bitten and would be fed to the walkers to join the defenses of the community, but at the time it was just insane to watch without that knowledge.

To make matters worse, Alonso’s daughter was watching the events unfold. Thankfully, Nick was there to have her look away from the gruesome death, but the situation itself is a sick one. A girl who is that young should not have to watch a person die that way, but her presence only amplified the scene.

However, the most intense part of the scene may have been the people gathered at the fence. They watched the entire sacrifice happen, chanting the entire time. This faith-based system they have is a very strong one that seemingly has the entire community bought in to the beliefs, and that could either be something that creates a strong bond or ultimately causes their downfall.
