Fear the Walking Dead S02E11 Preview: ‘Pablo and Jessica’
By Nir Regev
Fear the Walking Dead returned with a bang last Sunday as the Chris/Travis storyline catapulted from white noise to lightning in a bottle.
It appeared the entire Chris/Travis storyline had faded into the background of Walking Dead lore, when it returned with the fury of an aced Acting master class. The look on Travis’ face after Chris preemptively shot down the owner of the barn was as real as it gets. You felt it, it was a silent thunderous scream. All the animals and walkers in the area could hear its pitch. That’s how strong the look was. Chris’ grinning face and helping hand juxtaposed to sheer disappointing agony on Travis.

The son he had taught to drive for the first time an hour ago, now a vulture. A vicious member of the ‘spring break’ pack. His innocence nothing more than a stale facade. A father desperately trying to pretend his loaf of bread isn’t way past the expiration date, it’s still the same old bag of Wonder.
Right in that instant the episode ended in the best kind of way because you didn’t want it to end yet. You didn’t want to wait a week for answers. The Chris/Travis storyline became an overnight sensation, a triumph, when both characters were on the verge of becoming obsolete. Reanimated and revived.
Fear the Walking Dead’s Hotel Elevator Fallout
Fear the Walking Dead‘s elevator scene began with a bright shine that soon dimmed a bit… Pinpointed when Alicia was pulled into a room with the hotel manager. The moment kind of lost its edge between the discussion over the seemingly confused manager’s nephew and Alicia’s walk over to the next balcony over. It really called for a heavy suspension of disbelief.
Alicia’s moment of panic when she thought she’d been left by the manager would have been all that more powerful if it actually happened. On other hand the show wrote itself into a corner because Alicia is a lead. They’re not ready yet for this kind scene when they’re still building up their cast.
It simply felt a bit too easy of a stroll all the way back down to the hotel lobby as the pair rummaged for answers. The scene regained its posture when Alicia opened the floodgates to the hotel patron walkers on its party guests. Speaking volumes about Alicia, giving a cool visual and then ending with a Madison reunion. This resort story is definitely not over yet and it shouldn’t be. There’s plenty of material to work with in this type of claustrophobic environment.

Nick’s New Squeeze?
By the look of the the trailer for this week’s Fear the Walking Dead it appears Nick is fitting in great. It’s caught the eye, attention and maybe more from Luciana. Who shows up at his door in the trailer. Is a new love interest in the works? Or just worry about him falling back into old habits?
