Fear The Walking Dead: Who died in Pablo and Jessica?

Losses were evident in Fear The Walking Dead season 2 episode 11.  But did anyone actually die?

The most obvious losses in tonight’s episode would be Pablo and Jessica as suggested by the episode’s title. While neither of these deaths actually occurred during the episode, both made quite an impact.

We learn that Pablo was Luciana’s brother who had gone missing.  Francisco returns and tells Alejandro that Pablo’s body has been found.  And apparently his body was not intact, very sad and brutal.  Nick initially mistakes Pablo for Luciana’s boyfriend, but by the episode’s end, we get the idea that Nick may want to play that role himself.

We met Jessica last week as Oscar’s bride. Unfortunately, there was no fairy tale ending for this couple as Jessica was bitten by her infected father at their wedding reception in the hotel.

Unable to let the love of his life go, Oscar locks his reanimated bride in one of the rooms at the Rosarita Beach Hotel.  Meanwhile, Strand continues to struggle with the heartbreaking loss of Thomas.  In the midst of his own pain, Strand tries to help Oscar understand that Jessica no longer really exists and offers to put down the infected version of her.

The truck

Strand’s truck has gone missing.  Just as Madison and Victor make it out of the hotel alive, they find that his truck is no longer on the premises.  Strand assumes that Alicia and Ofelia drove away in it.  Madison argues that Alicia would not leave.

As viewers, we already know that Alicia is indeed still at the hotel.  But that still leaves Ofelia and the truck both missing.

Strand lost his boat and now his truck.  Should the gang ever find a motorcycle (a la Daryl Dixon), please let Madison be in charge of its whereabouts.

Potency

Of course, one of the main strategic efforts in the episode was Nick’s clever idea to cut the Oxycodone pills.  He crushed and reformed the pills pairing less than the original dose with powdered milk to extend their supply of the drug and thereby doubling the currency they have available for shopping at  “Marco’s Grocery”.

Final Count – 0

We actually had zero deaths in tonight’s episode.  While it was painful for characters to work through the known deaths of Pablo and Jessica, we did not actually lose them on screen tonight.
