Charity contest offers chance to meet cast at Comic Con

The Walking Dead and Omaze have teamed up once again for a contest which gives fans of the show a chance to hang with the cast at New York Comic Con.

One lucky winner and a friend will receive a photo with the cast and VIP tickets to The Walking Dead panel at the con. Also included in the prize package are passes to the rest of New York Comic Con, airfare to New York and a stay in a four star hotel.

The New York Comic Con contest serves as a fund-raiser for Omaze. Last year, proceeds went to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

This year, the campaign benefits Haiti Air Ambulance. Haiti Air Ambulance provides emergency helicopter services to the people of Haiti.

Contest Donation Levels

A base level donation of $10 gets fans 100 entries into The Walking Dead comic con contest. Participants in last year’s fundraiser can earn double entries if they donate $25 and use a code e-mailed to them by Omaze.

Donation levels have tiers and include gifts as the numbers go up. Donations of $25 get a digital thank you card from Haiti Air Ambulance. Donations of $50 get a digital background package centered around Carol’s famous “look at the flowers” line.

Those who donate $100 receive a “look at the flowers” shirt. A shirt and Survival Instinct game bundle are up for grabs for those who donate $350 (PS3) or $500 (Wii).

Larger donations mean larger rewards. Some higher level rewards have already sold out. However, a donation of $1,500 will get you a The Walking Dead pop up book autographed by select cast member. A $5,000 donation will get you a The Walking Dead Zombie Burst guitar also autographed by select cast members.

All reward levels also include entries into the drawing at the rate of 100 entries per every $10 donated.

The Fine Print

The contest is open to international fans, but they must hold a valid passport and be able to travel to the U.S. The winner will be randomly selected. The campaign closes Sept. 29.
