Season 7 synopsis for AMC’s The Walking Dead targets conflict
By Adam Carlson
Conflict is a major theme of the synopsis for season 7 of the hit AMC zombie survival drama The Walking Dead, which will premiere on October 23, 2016.
Things were too good for too long on The Walking Dead. The survivors found a place where they could settle down where they had security from the undead and space to plant crops, but they didn’t count on finding other groups of survivors in season 6 that would change their lives forever.
Season 7 of the hit AMC zombie survival drama will hit the small screen on October 23, 2016. With that premiere being less than a month away, it is time for fans to start getting excited about seeing their favorite survivors in the most watched show on television.
Thankfully, AMC has released a synopsis for season 7 of The Walking Dead. This description of the episodes to come have a major focus and should help to get fans even more excited about the premiere of season 7.
Here is that synopsis as shared by ComicBook.com:
"“Up until this point, our characters have lived through conflicts… Disease, hunger, scores of the undead, tragedy, betrayal, and unthinkable loss. Through this, they’ve become formidable. Powerful. Unstoppable. To start Season Seven, that power is taken away. They had found safety and stability. They had created a home. They thought the world was theirs. They thought they knew the world. They were wrong. The first half of Season Seven sees our group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression. Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his control, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don’t.Other characters are unaware of what’s happened, but have become separated from the group either by incident or choice — they will learn that they can’t escape this new turn of their world, either. This half season is about these characters starting over. The overall theme of the season is beginning again. The world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s bigger and it’s even more dangerous. “"
Of course, this is talking mostly about Negan and The Saviors. The tough group now has the power to control every aspect of life in Alexandria and force the survivors to work for them.
Not only that, but Negan’s kill will change everything. Taking a popular character away from the show and instilling fear into the group will be an interesting dynamic that hasn’t been explored in full on the program yet.
Next: Who did Negan kill? Check out the odds here!
The Walking Dead should get close to record numbers for viewership when the season 7 premiere airs on AMC. The October 23, 2016 event should have everyone glued to their television sets with a box of Kleenex and a shoulder to cry on nearby. Don’t miss this episode!
