Expect a much more badass Travis in Fear The Walking Dead season 3
By Adam Carlson
Travis Manawa has been one of the most interesting characters through 2 seasons of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, but he’ll be much more badass in season 3.
Fear The Walking Dead shook fans to the core with a big two-part season 2 finale that changed just about everything you thought you knew about the show. The biggest change involved former schoolteacher Travis Manawa, who altered the entire way he looked at humanity.
After realizing he couldn’t save his son, Travis let his son Chris leave with Brandon and Derek, but was surprised to see the two boys at the hotel being forced out by Madison. When confronted, the boys lied to Travis about the death of his son, prompting a beat down of epic proportions where he pummeled both boys to the brink of death or beyond.
There is no coming back from something like that, and Fear The Walking Dead executive producer Dave Erickson spoke with Comicbook.com about the role that Travis will play moving forward:
More from Undead Walking

- Walking Dead actor Chandler Riggs filming new movie in Tampa Bay
- Why is there no season 12 of The Walking Dead?
- Will Morgan Jones find Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live spinoff?

"“We’re going to see a badass version of Curtis in season three, yes. I think that you can’t cross that line and then go back. That’s not to say he’s not going to protect Madison or be protective of her and Alicia, but he’s going to go about that in a much, much different way.”"
Travis has always been protective of his family and his loved ones, but now he’ll be able to do some of the things he couldn’t force himself to do before. In season 1, he couldn’t shoot a walker when prompted to do so, but now he knows that it will take some killing, both of the living and the dead, to survive in the zombie apocalypse.
"“He’s going to be somebody much quicker to pull the trigger. He’s going to be somebody who is far more aggressive.”"

The transformation of Travis continues to be one of the best stories on Fear The Walking Dead and it looks as though he will continue to grow as he survives the apocalypse. Season 3 still has no official premiere date, but it is assumed to return when The Walking Dead takes its midseason break during season 7.
