Fans excited about the season 7 premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead are in for a treat, as they will get 10% more of their favorite zombie survival drama.
Sometimes 60 minutes just isn’t enough to tell the story of what is happening in the zombie apocalypse. That seems to be the case with the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead, as it will run a little long.
According to the official AMC television schedule on the network’s website, there will be an additional 6 minutes included in episode 701 on October 23, 2016. That means that the episode will come to an end at 10:06 pm eastern time.
There has been some debate among the fan base as to what those six minutes will be. While many are hoping that it will be additional content to account for the extra time, but others feel like the extra 10% of time will be used to plug in more advertisements and increase revenue for an episode that is bound to rake in an incredible amount of live viewers.

But, there should be a lot to cover during the season 7 premiere. Odds are that there will be a bit of a rewind to get people right into where they left off during the finale. After that, there should be a longer scene where Negan does his dirty deed and the scene from the preview clip is contained. There will need to be fallout from the scene, with many of the survivors being broken down and feeling helpless.
The extra time for the episode will force Talking Dead to start at 10:06 pm eastern time, but the special episode will be super-sized as well. The discussion show hosted by Chris Hardwick will have a running time of 89 minutes and lead into a replay of the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead.
