How will Negan punish Daryl for his actions on The Walking Dead?

Daryl’s impulsive nature and inability to control himself resulted in heartbreak on the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead, but how will Negan punish him?
For Daryl Dixon, keeping his emotions in check on The Walking Dead has never been an easy thing. He has acted impulsively on numerous occasions, putting himself and those around him in danger.
That trend continued during the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead last week, when Daryl reached his boiling point with Negan and The Saviors after the brutal killing of Abraham Ford to send a message to Rick and the people of Alexandria.
Punching Negan was something that was both a minor victory and a massive mistake. While he may have thought he was taking out some frustrations or getting some revenge, he instead forced Negan to make another example out of the group.
Interestingly enough, Negan didn’t exact his revenge on Daryl. Instead, he turned his attention to Glenn. Glenn was the first one to jump out of the lineup in hopes of protecting Maggie. Sadly, with Glenn gone, Maggie’s relationship with the Alexandrians, particularly Daryl, has to be complicated for now.
That matter gets even more confusing since The Saviors loaded up Daryl to take him back to The Sanctuary with them and Negan claimed him as their property.
The big question now is what Negan will do with Daryl and what his goal is with taking him away from Rick’s group.

With Daryl not being part of the comic book, it opens up an entire world of options for Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple, and the AMC show to get creative with this character and do things that haven’t been done in the comics before.
Of course, the most likely thing that will happen is torture. Negan has a history of messing with people’s minds and isn’t afraid to use violence to get the results he desires. One theory is that Negan may brand him with an iron the way that he may have done to Dwight as a punishment, and that would make a lot of Daryl fans unhappy.
But Negan has expressed his interest in Daryl as a fighter, so there is also the possibility that he wants to groom him to move up in the ranks of The Saviors. However, it will take a lot of work for Daryl to accept what Negan has done to his friends and join up with a group that did such devastating things to him.
Or they may just kill him or use him as insurance if the people of Alexandria don’t meet their demands.
