The Walking Dead cast represents at 2016 Critics Choice Awards
The Walking Dead cast was busy on Sunday night. In addition to the Season 7 midseason finale, some members of the cast attended (and were honored) at the 2016 Critics Choice Awards.
Tis the season for The Walking Dead. The cast of the show celebrated the midseason finale on Sunday night while one of the show’s stars picked up a Critics Choice Award. Two members of the show’s cast, past and present, helped with award duty as well.
It’s official—Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan is a darling among the critics. As if Negan needed any more help with his inflated ego, Negan himself Jeffrey Dean Morgan won the award for Best Guest Performer in a Drama. Morgan was up against Mahershala Ali (House of Cards), Lisa Bonet (Ray Donovan), Ellen Burstyn (House of Cards), Michael J. Fox (The Good Wife) and Jared Harris (The Crown).
If you missed Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s big moment, don’t worry—you weren’t alone. Given time restraints on the show, which includes extra categories such as Best Action Film and Best Action Actor and Actress, some of the awards weren’t awarded live and instead were read before commercial breaks.
However, two members of The Walking Dead cast were on hand to celebrate the awards show and participate as presenters: Norman Reedus and newly married and soon-to-be father Steven Yeun.

There is no shortage of irony that the actors who play one of the men Negan killed and one of the men Negan took as a prisoner were on hand on the night that the actor who plays Negan won an award for being Negan. I see what you did there, Hollywood. Well played.
