Fans took to internet torrents in large numbers to watch episodes of AMC’s zombie survival drama The Walking Dead instead of viewing live on television.

It is understandable that not everyone has access to AMC. The channel typically requires a subscription to a television service or streaming service to watch shows like The Walking Dead or Better Call Saul on the network.

Some fans use less honest ways of watching the show. Whether it is the cost, inconvenience, or other issues that keep folks from watching on television, they instead go to sites like TorrentFreak to watch episodes of the show.

Recently, Torrent Freak released their list of the most torrented shows of 2016, and it was no surprise that The Walking Dead was very high on the list. In fact, they were the second most watched show.

Here is the top 10 most torrented programs from TorrentFreak as shared on their official website:

More from Undead Walking

  1. Game of Thrones
  2. The Walking Dead
  3. Westworld
  4. The Flash
  5. Arrow
  6. The Big Bang Theory
  7. Vikings
  8. Lucifer
  9. Suits
  10. The Grand Tour

Seeing programs like Game of Thrones and Westworld on this list is not shocking at all, since both shows are on premium television provider HBO. Fans also wanted to check in on the guys from U.K. Top Gear, as The Grand Tour from Hulu made the list. Interestingly, there were no shows from Netflix on the list.

The big surprise on the list is The Big Bang Theory, which should be available to most fans through either a television antenna or basic television subscription. Also, The Flash and Arrow from the CW are moderately surprising as well.

Next: The Walking Dead ratings are fine

While Undead Walking doesn’t encourage illegal downloading or streaming of episodes, this does show just how passionate fans of The Walking Dead can be to watch their favorite survivors of the zombie apocalypse even if they don’t have AMC to watch the program.
