Security

After getting a community established and making sure that the community is safe the leader needs to set up a security force to defend it. Rick has a strong security force. Sasha, Michonne, Carl, Maggie, Rosita, Tara and Daryl are certainly capable of keeping Alexandria safe.

But, right now Alexandria is vulnerable. The Alexandrians are not great fighters. Maggie and Sasha are at Hilltop. Carol is gone. Daryl has been Negan’s prisoner. Tara was gone until recently. Alexandria’s security is very weak.

Negan’s security force, on the other hand, is a well-oiled machine. There are a lot of Saviors working security for Sanctuary and the outposts. There are also units of Saviors that are always out scavenging, looking for new communities, and picking up supplies from other communities.

Negan uses brutality and fear to keep the Saviors in line. But his tactics work. His security forces are intensely loyal to him. They will die to protect him and to protect Sanctuary. He also rewards his soldiers well. They enjoy privileges at Sanctuary and live better than other residents. As long as they take care of business they can live pretty well.

Negan’s Saviors are well-armed and trained. They can deal with any threat from humans or walkers. They’re loyal and know how to fight. And because there are so many of them if some are lost it doesn’t weaken the overall security force. When it comes to security Negan wins again.
