The road to all out war between The Saviors and the Survivors on The Walking Dead

“Always Accountable”

Season 6, episode 6 titled “Always Accountable”  is the first time that we find out about the existence of the Saviors. The massive herd from the quarry goes rogue. Daryl gets cut off and separated from the group. While he’s making his way back he comes across three strangers. Dwight, Sherry and Tina, who are on the run from the Saviors.

Daryl at first is taken prisoner by them, because they think he’s a Savior sent to find them. He talks to them and befriends them, then helps them hide from the Saviors. It’s the first time that the Saviors appear in the show, even though they aren’t named at that point.

It’s clear that they are a tough and organized group. Dwight, Sherry and Tina were terrified and didn’t want to go back. They managed to avoid the Saviors who were searching in the woods but that didn’t really help them much. After Tina was killed by a walker Sherry and Dwight robbed Daryl of his crossbow and bike to get away from the Saviors.

It didn’t work though, as Daryl finds out later when he, Denise and Rosita are attacked by Dwight whose face has been burned as a punishment. Dwight kills Denise with Daryl’s crossbow right in front of him.
