The road to all out war between The Saviors and the Survivors on The Walking Dead

“Twice as Far”

The Saviors appear again in the next episode titled “Twice As Far”. Daryl’s old friend Dwight shows up, missing half his face. He uses Daryl’s crossbow to shoot Denise in the head. She falls right in front of Daryl and Rosita. Dwight said he was aiming for Daryl. Dwight has a group of Saviors who have taken Eugene hostage. They launch an assault on Daryl and Rosita, and Abe who is nearby.

Eugene manages to distract Dwight with enough pain to make him call off the other Saviors. They retreat into the woods after taking a few more pot shots at Daryl and Rosita. Eugene does some fine work distracting Dwight and saving some lives in this episode, but Dwight definitely didn’t appreciate how he did it.

Back at Alexandria Carol is having a crisis of conscience. She knows that the Survivors aren’t going to be able to stop the Saviors unless they go on a horrific killing spree. And she was rattled by her encounter with Paula. She’s not ready to face more killing.

She gathers up some supplies and leaves a note for the others. Then she takes a car and slips away, trying to go off alone so that she won’t have to kill anymore. But, she runs right into a Savior blockade.
