Fighting for the future is the theme for the second half of The Walking Dead season 7,but that won’t be easy to achieve against Negan and The Saviors.

There is less than a week until The Walking Dead returns to AMC for the midseason premiere of season 7. Because of that, excitement is at an all-time high for fans hoping to watch their favorite survivors ‘Rise Up’ against The Saviors.

Recently, AMC has been advertising the show heavily. They have been focusing on rallying the survivors to work together to overcome Negan‘s group, but have also teased character development in the meantime.

That trend continued with an official teaser released on the official AMC YouTube account titled ‘Future’. Here is that video:

This teaser focuses on the characters in the zombie apocalypse rather than the situation at hand going into the second half of season 7. Focus shifts from character to character, with the following scenes standing out from the others:

More from Undead Walking

  • Rick Grimes standing at attention
  • Carol exiting her house
  • Morgan giving Tara a big hug while others look on
  • Enid and Carl exchanging smiles
  • Rick and Michonne kissing
  • Rosita and Tara looking at a rope with explosives
  • Michonne readying her sword
  • The group leaving the big house at The Hilltop
  • Rick giving a passionate speech
  • Daryl with a crossbow
  • Carol with a gun

Overall, this was the hype video fans should have been expecting. It shows many of the important characters in the series and puts emphasis on the situation at hand. The dialog helps to hammer it home:

“This world can belong to the good people. We just gotta be brave enough to try” and “It’s not about us anymore. It’s about our future”.
