The Walking Dead, Hearts Still Beating: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) Within the first five minutes of this episode, we see references to all three members of The Group The Saviors killed: Glenn, Abraham, and Denise. No, you’re not seeing an eclipse, that’s just the FORESHADOWING.
2) There is a board in Rick’s house next to his dining room table which describes the signals for Morse Code. …Huh. Maybe the speculation that Daryl was signalling to Rick in Morse Code in “Service” was right after all.
3) The “today and today only” exchange between Rick and Aaron is the same as the one from the previous episode, “Sing Me A Song”, but shot from a different perspective.
4) While coming on to Spencer, Laura spies Eugene watching and asks “You like to watch?” to which Eugene replies “Yes”. This is a call back to him revealing to Tara that he watched Abraham and Rosita in “Self Help”.
5) If Laura looks familiar, it’s because we first met her during Dwight’s opening montage in “The Cell”, playing air hockey.
6) This episode also marks the first time we’ve caught up with Carol and Morgan since “The Well”.
7) Aaron ending up in walker-infested water is scarily reminiscent of what happened to Bob in “Strangers”. Did anyone check to see if he got bitten?
