A scene involving Rick, his group, and some strangers has people talking the most from episode 709 of The Walking Dead titled ‘Rock in the Road’.

The season 7 midseason premiere of The Walking Dead had many great moments. There was a lot of walkers, a reunion, some drama, and some intrigue. However, AMC decided there was one scene in particular that has people talking the most.

At the end of the episode, Rick, Michonne, Aaron, Tara, and Rosita were following the clues left by Father Gabriel in hopes of discovering what happened to him and where he took all of the food from Alexandria’s pantry. Instead, they found something else entirely.

Here is the ‘Talked About Scene’ from The Walking Dead 709 as shared on the official YouTube channel of AMC:

Father Gabriel’s note of ‘BOAT’ led the group back to where he and Aaron got a lot of weapons (and some not very nice notes) from a houseboat at a swamp, where Rick found a boot print to follow away from the boat.

The group made their way down a path in the woods and to an opening behind a building. Instead of finding a civilization or more hints at Gabriel’s whereabouts, they were surprised to find themselves ambushed by a large group with weapons.

In the face of danger, Rick showed no fear. Instead of cowering or trying to negotiate his position, the leader of Alexandria smiled and seemed relieved to see so many new faces with both guns and melee weapons.

While the reason for this smile hasn’t been officially revealed on the show, Rick has to be thinking about these individuals as potential soldiers in the war against Negan and The Saviors, especially after being denied help from King Ezekiel and The Kingdom.

The Walking Dead will return with episode 710 titled ‘New Best Friends’ on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Hopefully, more will be learned about this new group of survivors and how they will interact with Rick and rest of those fighting for freedom from The Saviors.
