The Walking Dead is one of the shows that people say causes them to cheat watch Netflix because they just can’t wait to find out what happens. Do you cheat watch on your partner? Would you cheat watch The Walking Dead?

According to Netflix survey, as reported in USA Today, cheat watching is an epidemic. Just under 50% of the people who agree to wait to watch a particular show (such as The Walking Dead) break that agreement. Instead of waiting for their partner to be able to watch it with them they watch ahead on their own.

And the survey found that one of the shows that is responsible for this epidemic of cheat watching is AMC’s zombie survival drama. People just can’t wait for their partners to find out what happens next to Rick and the other survivors.

Binge watching is now one of the most popular ways to watch TV. Being able to watch an entire season in a few days sure beats waiting a week between episodes. But, binge watching enables cheat watching. People are waiting until their partners fall asleep and then watching more episodes alone.

Now that season 6 of The Walking Dead is on Netflix it’s really kind of understandable that people would cheat watch the show and not wait for their partners. Season 7 won’t be available on Netflix until the fall. But season 7B of The Walking Dead just kicked off and it looks like it’s going to be intense.

Is It Really Wrong?

Is it actually wrong to cheat watch The Walking Dead? Sure, if you give your word then you should keep it and not watch ahead. But it’s The Walking Dead. So it’s kind of understandable that people would cheat watch it.

The Walking Dead fans know how hard it is to wait between episodes. Especially in season 6 when the group first encounters the Saviors. And when Negan appears. So if you’re going to cheat watch be sure that you act surprised when you’re watching the episode that you just watched again with your partner.

And partners – cut your Walking Dead addicts some slack. It’s not really fair to ask them to wait to find out what happens next or who is going to die. Be reasonable.
