The Walking Dead: Chandler Riggs talks future plans during AMA on Reddit
The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs talked to fans during an AMA on Reddit and he talked about everything from child actors to his future.
Chandler Riggs is a good kid. The Walking Dead actor who plays Carl Grimes has a good head on his shoulders and he knows that letting fame go to your head can ruin everything. So when Riggs took time to talk to fans during a recent AMA on Reddit, we learned a lot about the young actor who has grown up in front of our eyes.
One fan asked about working with Baby Judith, and Riggs had a lot to say about his onscreen little sister:
"“oh my lord those babies. they are so difficult. it’s a set of twins, and we’ve had about 7 or 8 different pairs but o man they are so tough to work with. season 5 babies were the easiest, but only because i spent so much time with them and basically forced them to like me. they constantly grab at the boom mic, interrupt our lines, and jump out of our arms screaming “MOMMY” and run out of the room to go find their mom. i’m always thankful when i don’t have scenes with them lol edit: they can be fun and very cute, but most of the time they’re hard to work with.”"
Riggs was very candid when a fan asked if he had any “future plans of getting hooked on drugs” like other child actors:
"“yeah dude u know it, love me some heroin. jk i’m not into anything like that. i spend my weekends at home playing video games, making music, hanging out with my gf, etc, so i don’t plan on becoming a trainwreck. i live a pretty normal life, and i’m planning on going to college for sociology/psychology so i don’t think i’ll end up like some of those child actors. edited for format “"
When it comes to his future, the only thing that is certain right now is that he’ll be going to college and he’ll study sociology and/or psychology. Early reports that he had committed to Auburn are false. It just happens that Auburn is the first school that sent Riggs an acceptance letter. Riggs expects to make a decision about college in March, which is consistent with the mailing date of a majority of college acceptance letters.
