Will Daryl get his mojo back along with his crossbow on The Walking Dead this week?

In The Walking Dead’s upcoming episode “New Best Friends” Daryl gets his crossbow back finally. Will that be enough to bring back Daryl’s careful and methodical killing skills?
It’s been a long time since fans of The Walking Dead saw Daryl at his best. For the last couple of seasons he’s been floundering a little bit. Adjusting to live in Alexandria has been tough for loner Daryl. And after the deaths of Glenn and Abe and his captivity he’s not really been himself.
Daryl lost his crossbow way back in Season 6 when he first met Dwight and Sherry. They turned on Daryl and took his crossbow and motorcycle. But in this week’s new episode of The Walking Dead Daryl gets a crossbow again. It’s not his familiar crossbow, but that doesn’t really matter.
What matters is that Daryl has his signature weapon back. Rick getting his Colt Python signaled the return of Sheriff Rick the leader who could take on any challenge. Daryl getting a crossbow again may signal that Daryl is no longer in defensive mode and is going on the offensive with his considerable fighting skills.
In a new clip released by AMC to Comicbook.com set in The Kingdom Richard is practicing with a bow and arrow. He mentions that the Saviors don’t trust Richard with a gun. So he wants to be skilled in other weapons to fight them. He gives Daryl a crossbow.
At first Daryl is hesitant to take it. He doesn’t trust Richard and doesn’t like being at The Kingdom. But, Richard tells him that they both want the same thing. Richard wants Daryl to help him convince King Ezekiel to join Rick’s growing army.
The Atlanta Four Are Stronger Than Ever
Losing Glenn was a huge blow for the original group of survivors. Now the only originals left are Carol, Daryl, Rick and Carl. And over the course of the first half of the season each of them had to face challenges that broke them down.
But Rick and Carl have overcome their challenges and come back stronger. It looks like Daryl is about to rise up too. That just leaves Carol still struggling. Will Daryl returning to the crossbow wielding killer he was before get her to rise up also?

If Daryl finds out that Carol is still at The Kingdom that could be exactly what she needs to bring her back to the group and back to her full strength. And once the Atlanta Four are together again and fighting at full strength Negan and The Saviors will have a fight on their hands that they never saw coming. Hopefully The Walking Dead fans will also get to see a Carol and Daryl reunion in “New Best Friends”.
