Detroit Tigers’ J.D. Martinez Unboxes Gift from Negan (Video Inside)
By Nir Regev
The Saviors dropped off a special present to MLB Outfielder J.D. Martinez, a replica of Lucille! Negan always has a few surprises up his sleeve.
Now that Negan is looking to hedge some territory in Major League Baseball, replicas of Lucille have been shipped all over the place. Never to be content, the savior leader already has the Detroit Tigers’ J.D. Martinez on video saying “Call me Negan”.
If that’s not pledging allegiance to the Sanctuary then nothing is. When you’re building outposts thousands of miles away occasionally you need a Twitter notification to confirm the operation is going smoothly. Let’s take a look at the great surprise and pride J.D. Martinez experiences as he unboxes Lucille for the first time, barbwire and all.
J.D. Martinez Unboxes Lucille (Video)
Martinez looks ready to swing Lucille already and can barely contain his excitement. One has to wonder what Negan’s note in the box said? Was it a simple gift message or a specific request like half of the Detroit Tigers. Just half. You know Negan is a decent man who only takes what he needs. He’s not some kind of barbaric savage after all.
J.D. Martinez could not have been more happy to receive this token and he’ll remember this gesture provided by the good people at AMC. A business side of the saviors that appreciates its true fans. One wonders what the first thing Martinez used his fresh new Lucille on after the video ended.

The collector in you might wanna keep it in prime shape to display around the house, then the other just wants to swing it at the first object you see for laughs. Must have been like going back to your youth and getting that one toy you’ve wanted and talked about all year. It’s like Christmas in July! Or rather February.
Then do people really keep track of time anymore in The Walking Dead’s apocalypse? Probably only for inventory purposes like when you send out some priceless Lucille replicas to MLB talents.
