The Bad Things

  1. “It just happened. I wasn’t thinking.” Benjamin needs to get that impulsive nature under control. Situations like that have gotten Daryl, Rosita, and other survivors in a lot of trouble. Being quick is one thing, but being quick and smart is another.
  2. Using Carol as bait. If Daryl wasn’t emotionally invested in the well-being of Carol, this would have been a great plan. However, Carol isn’t a lost cause and Daryl isn’t about to give her up just like that. And Richard assuming Carol would be willing to sacrifice herself is a poor assumption.
  3. Waiting so long to find out what happened with Rick. Episode 709 ended with a cliffhanger where the survivors were surrounded by well-armed strangers. Sadly, it took over 20 minutes to find out what happened with the people at the junkyard.
  4. The horizon shots with Rick and Jadis. Normally, The Walking Dead is a visual masterpiece, but those horizon shots look like they came straight from a green screen booth like you’d see at a mall photo booth. Those scenes were distracting from the rest of the episode.
  5. Rosita continues down a bad path. Her poor attitude has been a bad mark on the group for a while now. She continues to internalize her guilt, but not let it out in a healthy way. Instead, she is taking it out on people like Sasha and Tara who are just trying to keep the group together and include her in it.
