6) In a funny coincidence, the mural on the trailer Richard uses for cover shows an outlaw holding up a stagecoach. This isn’t that different from what The Saviors do; In fact, it’s almost exactly what The Saviors did in Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha’s first meeting with them in the season six mid-season premiere, “No Way Out”.

7) After discovering the nature of Richard’s plan, Daryl refuses, not surprisingly unwilling to sacrifice Carol. This very much parallels Rick’s (As well as Merle’s) refusal to hand Michonne over The Governor in season three’s “This Sorrowful Life”.

8) This episode gets its name from Rosita asking The Group if the junkyard people are their “New Best Friends”.

9) The way that Jadis, Tamiel, and Brion talk is rather odd. Why do they talk the way that they do? They’re the only group we’ve encountered thus far who’ve changed their manner of speaking as a result of the apocalypse.

10) The junkyard group are the first to use a walker as an arena challenge since Woodbury back in season three.
