#5. Is there still hope for Dwight and Sherry?

Dwight was holding on to all hope that there was still a future for him and his former wife Sherry. Despite hints that Sherry was not feeling the same way, he continued to press on, using her safety as his motivation for survival.

More from Undead Walking

When she escaped from The Sanctuary, Negan sent Dwight after her. Hoping to meet up with her to enjoy some pretzels and beer, instead he found one of the most crushing ‘Dear John’ letters ever used on television.

Any hope Dwight had of getting back together with her was shattered in that moment. His love for Sherry would never be reciprocated again, but he also no longer needed to tiptoe around Negan and The Saviors in order to keep her safe and alive.

Odds are that Sherry will show up again some time in the future, but a reunion between these two characters is likely out of the question. Dwight will need to find a different motivation for survival and goal to work toward. And that could be very interesting to watch going forward.
