The Walking Dead, Hostiles And Calamities: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) With this episode starting as Dwight and others discover Fat Joey’s corpse, it appears to take place the day Rick and company leave The Kingdom in “Rock In The Road”.
2) As I asked two weeks ago: Did it really take two whole days for anyone to realize Fat Joey was dead and Daryl escaped?
3) This is the first episode we’ve seen Eugene or nearly any of the primary Saviors (Except for Simon) since the mid-season finale, “Hearts Still Beating”.
4) In stark contrast to Daryl, Eugene seems to be receiving much better treatment from The Saviors.
5) Laura continues to call Eugene by her nickname for him, “Haircut”, which she first called him when she caught him spying her conversation with Spencer in “Hearts Still Beating”.
6) Eugene says he’d tell Laura where Daryl was, if he knew. While this might seem treasonous on its face, Eugene also doesn’t suggest the likeliest option, The Hilltop. This implies that Eugene is being rather clever about what information (Or lack thereof) he gives The Saviors.
