#3. What is Rick’s plan with the food?
At first. the immediate thought is that Rick and Michonne will bring all of the food back to Alexandria. Not only would it feed the people of the community, but then there would be plenty of food to give The Saviors when they return for the next tribute.
But what if they don’t. Simon has gone on record as saying that Negan doesn’t appreciate people holding out on him. but there would be some benefit in stashing a couple of cases of food somewhere or not bringing it all back right away.
Another downside of bringing it all back right away is that The Saviors will come to expect heavy drops all the time. Raising those expectations will make it hard for Alexandria to meet those obligations while continuing to prepare for war.
However, the top priority for Alexandria should be buying time with Negan to be able to assemble an armed group of soldiers to fight. And maybe giving extra food and supplies to The Saviors in the meantime to keep things in line is well worth the losses.
