King Ezekiel values Carol’s opinion on The Walking Dead. Now that she’s ready to go to war she is the key to getting King Ezekiel and The Kingdom to join Rick’s army in the fight against Negan.

After the events in The Walking Dead “Bury Me Here” King Ezekiel has finally realized that staying out of the war isn’t an option. Richard set up The Kingdom. He ended up getting Ben killed in his effort to spark a battle between The Kingdom and The Saviors. After Morgan killed Richard for being the cause of Ben’s death King Ezekiel knew that not fighting was going to cost lives, not save them. Now he’s ready to commit The Kingdom to the battle.

But Carol is the key to bringing The Kingdom into Rick’s army. King Ezekiel doesn’t know Rick. He is very hesitant to fight The Saviors because he doesn’t want to risk more innocent lives or risk destroying The Kingdom. He does trust Carol though.

Carol knows Rick and she can calm any fears that Ezekiel has about joining Rick. Ezekiel and Carol have a pretty strong bond as a result of their real talk conversation in the royal garden. Carol knows the real Ezekiel. If she tells him that Rick can be trusted Ezekiel will believe her.

And now Carol is ready to fight. She’s probably feeling some guilt about Glenn and Abe’s deaths. Carol is most likely wondering if she could have saved them if she hadn’t left Alexandria. Or if she could have saved Olivia. And she knows that her attempt to get clear of fighting by leaving the people she loves won’t work.

What The Kingdom Brings To The Table

As King Ezekiel saw with brutal clarity after The Saviors killed Ben they are going to fierce opponents. They are ruthless. And they have the numbers and weapons to win. They’re going to be hard to beat. Rick, Daryl, Jesus and Carol are also tough fighters and strategists. But they need what The Kingdom can contribute if they’re going to have a chance of winning.

Ezekiel has trained fighters and weapons that will help the survivors. He also has Shiva, who is a pretty strong secret weapon. The Saviors won’t be expecting to see a tiger on the battlefield. One of the biggest advantages that the fighters from The Kingdom have is that they know how to use weapons besides guns. Guns are going to be in short supply and it will help that The Kingdom fighters are well equipped with spears, bows, and other weapons. They also have armor and horses.

More from Undead Walking

Rick will be heading into All Out War on The Walking Dead with fighters from The Hilltop, the survivors from Alexandria, and now fighters and supplies from The Kingdom. If he can get guns from Oceanside he will have Jadis and The Scavengers too. It still won’t be an even match but now that Carol is bringing King Ezekiel into the fight the survivors might have a fighting chance to bring Negan and The Saviors down.
