8. Jared Allen

Former defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings, Jared Allen, is an asset to have without even considering his NFL career. He could have just as easily been a successful pro wrestler. He stands at a daunting 6 foot 6 inches tall, weighing 255 pounds in pure muscle. He’s rather intimidating to look at, which would help you when potential raiders come your way.

Allen is also a self proclaimed avid hunter. He talks about his passion for hunting in Field and Stream magazine, making clear his interest in the activity. But it’s not good enough for Allen to go for bunnies and squirrels. He goes for much bigger prey, such as boars, bears, and elk. Daryl Dixon has taught us that having hunters in the group is incredibly beneficial, so these skills would be quite valuable.

There’s something else Allen has which makes him great to have around, and that’s his compassion. He’s done a lot of charity work including help withanimals and  juvenile diabetes. Allen has even created the charity of Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, providing handicap accessible homes to severely wounded soldiers returning from the wars. Caring about the fellow survivors in the group makes having Allen included all the better.
