22. Walker Shane

Sophia wasn’t the only shocking walker death in season 2. In the second last episode of the season “Better Angels” Rick and Shane finally face off in the showdown that was building throughout the season. Rick leaves Shane after he kills him because he sees a herd approaching the farm.

But later on Shane turns and comes after Rick. Rick was already struggling with the fact that he had just killed his partner and his best friend. When walker Shane comes after him Rick doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to survive. But Carl shoots Shane, taking him down for good.

Walker Shane was pretty gnarly to look at it. But the brutal impact of this kill was that it came from Carl. And that Rick was forced to kill Shane because Shane would have killed Rick if Rick hadn’t killed him. By the end of season 2 Shane was out of control. A showdown between the two was inevitable.
