30. Bicycle Girl Walker
Kicking off the list is one of the most iconic walkers that the show has ever created. In the series premiere “Days Gone Bye” Rick encounters the Bicycle Girl after he leaves the hospital. He’s trying to make his way back to his home to find Lori and Carl. He is disoriented and still has no idea what has happened to the world.
He finds the Bicycle Girl walker, who is really just half a body dragging itself along the ground, and is shocked and confused. He doesn’t know what a walker is at that point. Later on after he has found Morgan and Dwayne and learns what happened he begins to understand what walkers are.
After he is ready to make his way towards Atlanta to try and find his family he heads back to the area outside the hospital where he found the Bicycle Girl. He tracks her from the slide marks in the dirt where the walker is dragging itself along looking for something to feed on.
He finds her and is overcome with compassion. Later on in the series killing walkers will become routine for him but this was the first walker kill that really made an impression on him. Rick tells her that he is sorry that this happened to her before using his signature Colt Python revolver to shoot her in the head.
