28. Guts Walkers
By episode two of The Walking Dead “Guts” Rick has made it to Atlanta. He got trapped in an abandoned military tank. But he heard Glenn on the radio guiding him to safety. He met up with Glenn and met the other survivors who were in Atlanta on a supply run. This is the first time that Rick has found other survivors since he left Morgan and Dwayne.
But helping Rick put Glenn and the others in more danger. They are trapped in a tall building with walkers surrounding them on the ground floor. Somehow they have to get clear and get a vehicle to the door to save the whole group. When they find all the exits blocked by walkers and the streets crowded with a massive herd of walkers there’s only one way out.
The group kills a walker and covers Rick and Glenn in walker guts so that they will smell dead. This is a graphic and gory scene that shows the lengths they will have to go to in order to survive in this new world. Rick and Glenn cautiously go out into the herd. They move slow and smell dead so they are able to move among the walkers without being detected.
But when rain washes off some of the guts and blood from their ponchos they have to go on a killing spree. Already covered in viscera and blood they hack at the walkers around them fighting for a chance to live.
