24. Stream Walker

Daryl took some pretty good hits in season 2’s “Chupacabra” episode. But he gave some pretty good hits too. The second time he fell into the stream he got knocked out. He hallucinated that Merle was standing over him but really it was a walker standing over him. He comes to just in time.

After scrambling to push away and kill the walker that was standing over him he sees another walker moving fast towards him. He is able to locate his crossbow but he doesn’t have any arrows. So he rips the arrow from his own body and loads it into the crossbow.

At that point he doesn’t have time to get away from the walker because he’s still not moving very quickly from the fall. So he waits until the walker gets way too close for comfort and shoots it in the head with the arrow at close range. The walker falls with an arrow through the eye socket and up into the brain.

This walker kill had all the elements of a great brutal walker kill. Suspense, danger, and Daryl using his cunning and hunting skills to survive. That’s why it makes the list for one of the most brutal walker kills in The Walking Dead.
