#4. Can they break Eugene out of The Sanctuary?
Rosita’s first attempt at killing Negan didn’t go so well. When her bullet was blocked by Lucille, the act resulted in The Saviors taking Eugene back to The Sanctuary with him and shooting Olivia as a punishment.
Since bringing back Olivia isn’t an option, the focus shifted to Eugene. Rosita’s guilt for getting him taken away was heavy on her, but the people never stopped to wonder if Eugene would even want to return to Alexandria if the chance came up.
Eugene denying rescue may seem like the move of a scared or transformed man, but it’s the right move. Not only is he gaining intel and trust on the inside, but he’s doing so in comfort and already has a position of power within the community.
Hopefully, if either Rosita or Sasha make it back, the people of Alexandria can be told that Eugene is holding things down well and isn’t getting the same kind of torture that Daryl endured when The Saviors had him captive.
