Overall Impression of 715

This episode of The Walking Dead served its purpose. While that’s not a very positive or negative thing to say, it moved the story ahead, but in a way that didn’t have a lot of power or doubt.

More from Undead Walking

The big takeaway from this episode was that Alexandria got the guns from Oceanside. But to do so in an old-fashioned stick-up was a bit sad. Negotiating with them would have been tough, but there had to be a better way to work things out.

As far as Sasha goes, it’s good that she’s not dead. However, considering her situation and how she’s attempting to manipulate Eugene, this may not be a great thing for her. Negan has always been a guy to punish people in ways they don’t expect…and Sasha’s situation is no different.

Closing with Dwight bringing Rosita back to Alexandria and getting locked in the cell is a big step forward for the show. Dwight clearly wasn’t happy with Negan and The Saviors, so it makes sense for him to fight for freedom instead of live under the rules of The Sanctuary.

Overall, this was a pretty straight-forward episodes with few twists and turns. That kind of episode doesn’t usually make for very entertaining television, but it serves a big purpose to set up the big season 7 finale next week. While okay, this wasn’t an episode you will want to watch over and over again.
