The Walking Dead episode 7.15 “Something They Need” brings several tense moments, some quite terrifying. Or should we say “Tara”-fying?!

Tara Chambler was most certainly in a pickle this week along with Sasha and Gregory. The Walking Dead covered quite a few different storylines this week, each one having some edge of your seat moments. Some had us worried for beloved characters. Others made us angry.

Let’s take a look at some of the most intense moments in The Walking Dead  episode 7.15.

Tara’s life on the line

Tara finds herself with Natania holding a gun to her head after Tara breaks her promise to keep the Oceanside community a secret. She brings the Alexandrians to Oceanside to take their guns and try to recruit them for war against Negan.

Tara did not take the decision to divulge Oceanside’s whereabouts lightly. She carefully sounded out the pros and cons (to a less than attentive Judith) before deciding to tell Rick about the well-armed waterfront hideaway.

Natania, however, is not at all willing to change her mind about keeping her community hidden and out of harm’s way. They have already suffered too much at the hands of Negan. Natania holds Tara hostage refusing to let her go even if it means losing her own life.

Had Cyndie not knocked out her grandmother, I believe Natania may have indeed pulled the trigger. I was not alone in this fear. James Frazier of the The Walker Stalkers Podcast shared that he, too, thought Tara might die in the episode.

It was indeed a tension-filled moment. Did you think Tara was a goner?

Maggie and Gregory encounter a walker (or two!)

Maggie and Gregory share some conversation while Maggie works at uprooting a blueberry bush outside the Hilltop encampment. The task is taking longer than expected and Maggie asks Gregory to keep watch.

Gregory obliges and briefly appears to consider plunging the knife into Maggie in an attempt to eliminate his competition. But before long, they hear a walker coming through the trees.

Gregory insists upon taking out said walker on behalf of pregnant Maggie.

For about three seconds.

That’s right, Gregory quickly cowers from the threat telling Maggie to go ahead and take out the walker instead. But suddenly there is a second walker that appears and pins Gregory to the ground. Gregory pleads for Maggie to help him, which she swiftly does, rescuing him from the walker’s chompers.

I certainly did not think Gregory had the nerve to stab Maggie. That was not really my fear in this scene. But, even though I did not really think Gregory’s story was finished on The Walking Dead, I always get nervous when a walker is frantically chomping so close to someone’s face.

Yes, I was nervous for Gregory. And while I don’t really root for his character, I do thoroughly enjoy his antics and the way he fuels the story.

Sasha’s close encounter with David

We find that Sasha has been captured upon entering the Sanctuary and is being paid a visit by David, one of Negan’s creepiest Saviors.

Remember, he is the guy that was super creepy with Enid about her green balloons. He also beat Aaron nearly to death over the insulting note he found in his offering. He is pretty much a guy you want to avoid like the plague.

But he takes creepy to a whole different level when he attempts to assault our beloved sniper. It is extremely unsettling. We cheer when Sasha head butts him in defiance. But unfortunately, it does not knock him out completely. He continues with his horrific threats.

Finally, it is Negan who stops David in his tracks, refusing to accept his apology, and slicing through his neck like a bite on a skewer. Bye-bye David, good riddance!

This was indeed a very tense, terrifying moment. And to see the villainous Negan coming to Sasha’s rescue made for an interesting layer in his complex character.

Which of these moments had you the most panicked on The Walking Dead this week? How thankful are you that David was the casualty and not Sasha or Tara? And what are your feelings about Gregory’s rescue?
